Knights of Columbus Council #8668 - $1,000.00 Scholarship Program
The Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Peace Council #8668 of Mississauga, a Catholic, Fraternal, Family Organization, provides a scholarship program for graduating students attending Loyola and/or lona Catholic Secondary Schools entering the first year of a post-secondary education.
Candidates eligible for the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Peace Council #8668 scholarship must have been accepted into the first year of a Full-Time program at an accredited University or College in Canada.
Criteria which will be heavily weighted by the evaluating committee will be: Academic Achievement AND service to church, school, and community.
An Application is deemed to be incomplete unless completed in full and includes the following items:
A completed and signed Scholarship Application Form (see bottom of this page for a link to the application form)
A typed autobiographical statement containing a description of the applicant's educational objectives and his/her involvement in the church/community/school must accompany the application form. (Two page maximum)
A letter of recommendation from one of the following: School Chaplain, Guidance Counselor, Grade 12 Teacher, or Principal.
The final date for filing an application shall be May 1st. Materials submitted in support of the application are not returnable.
Successful candidates will be notified by June 30th and their names will be published on the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Peace Council #8668 website www.kofc8668.org
A cheque, representing the amount of the scholarship shall be forwarded to the college or university and credited to the student's account, upon receipt of verification of proof of registration and attendance.
The number of scholarships granted may vary annually.
Incomplete applications will not be considered by the committee.
The decision of the Council shall be final.
